New Products!

Hello, beauties!!
I have some very exciting new products today!I've been shopping online a bit lately (as I do) and yesterday I received my package from Selfridges!

So, first things first! Just how exciting and unusual is this Stila One Step Skin Tone Correcting and Brightening Serum?!!! It really caught my eye when I was flicking through the pages with beauty products.  "This triple-swirled helix serum instantly colour corrects, brightens, primes and nourishes the skin.It improves skin tone, evens out complexion and helps to smooth fine lines." So... the green- minimises redness, lavender- fights sallow undertones and peach-brightens, illuminates and helps to diminish the appearance of sun spots! Wow, what a product, I think every lady should have that in her beauty bag! Very light texture gets absorbed by skin instantly, leaving it looking fresh and radiant. It also feels very moisturising without leaving the skin sticky. One Step Correct is a really good base for the make up, it preps the skin perrrr-fectly! Oh and the packaging is just mmmm!!Cant't get over it!

So here on the pictures below you can see how it looks squeezed  out of the tub (hm, not the most attractive thing, I know) , and then after i worked it in the skin. It's very light and nourishing.

I heard of CC creams from a few of my friends and then I came across this one by NIP+FAB CC Cream SPF30 in Light. This product promises to get you "medium coverage, while Soline provides 24 hour hydration and make the skin appear toned and soothed with oat extract."
So, CC stands for Colour or Complexion Correcting Cream.
It's more dense and more pigmented then it's older brother BB Cream. It gives a better coverage and I would say has a quality of the foundation.
When I started applying it, i thought it was too thick and a bit hard to spread but then I discovered that it's much better if you work it into the skin by dabbing it. I absolutely loved that product, I only applied under the eyes and nose and some other redder problem areas, it looks so natural as if you didn't have anything on at all, it feels very smooth and not cakey at all.
Here is a few pictures to illustrate:

Lastly, hmm.. they say "a girl can never have enough shoes".. and I would add "lipsticks"..so here is my new lipstick it joined a thousand army  . It is by Bare Minerals in Rock Candy, I also got a lip pencil by Clinique in 40 Neutrally. I should say that I did quite a good job taking in consideration I was choosing them online, as the pencil really matches the lipstick. I always use lip liners as it gives the lip a nice defined look. I'm also quite fussy about lip pencils, I don't like them too soft as I find that they smudge easily, but I also don't like them too hard as it can be impossible to apply sometimes. Clinique did everything to satisfy me, this liner has a perfect texture: glides easily and doesn't bleed onto the skin around the mouth.
I've never had a Bare Minerals lipstick before and I'm really glad I've got one now. It has a very nice moisturising formula that feels light and pleasant on the lips. And I think the colour is absolutely gorgeous: very natural rosy pink.

And here is how it look on the lips

Have you ever tried Stila products? Bare Minerals?

Make-up!

Hello, lovelies!Hope you are all having a great weekend even though it's freezing cold outside!

I am lately on a quest to find that perfect nude lipstick, but all of those I've tried are either too pink or too brown, or too purple and so on and on and on! So while looking for some presents for dad and bf in Liberty's I came across the brand called Hourglass, they have quite a good range of make up,but I was specifically attracted to their lipsticks, as the shades they have are absolutely gorgeous, they have a few gorgeous reds, but the nude colours are amazing!
I chose the shade called Whisper and the lip pencil in Bare(that i accidentally broke soon after taking pictures, what a shame!!) that go together beautifully! The lipstick has a very moisturising non-drying formula and feels very nice on the lips!

And here is a quick picture of moi wearing the lipstick, as you can see it doesn't look as dark on the lips as it does on the back of my hand. I think it's a great one for everyday make-up! So check it out and find your perfect shade!

Oh, and I also was convinced (once a again!) as I have absolutely no will power and strength of character when it comes to make up and sales persuasive sales assistants. So I walked away with another addition to my ever-growning Wonder Box: Ellis Faas Skin Veil Foundation in S102L.
This skin veil feels very very moisturising and you can hardly see it on the skin, it gives that famous dewy look. I can't say that I am a big fan of that dewy thing as it just doesn't feel comfortable for me and plus my skin gets a bit oily. So when I tried it at home at first I wasn't impressed at all and quite disappointed. But then I tried to mix it with L'Oreal BB Cream that I spoke about last time and oh..a miracle!!It was the winning combination!
Combined together these products give a good coverage, yet it's very very light and doesn't look cakey on the skin. Won-der-ful!
Here is a little swatch of the skin veil!

Just a quick one!

Hello, beauties!

Just a quick update! Did my nails the other day. Was in a kinda spring mood , so opted for one of a new Artistic Colour Gloss  colours that I ordered recently.
I took a million and one picture as it was quite hard to capture the real colour; it's a bright magenta with a bit of sparkles, the shade is called Glam.

What do you think?

Hair and Make-up

Hello,beauties!!
Gonna tell you about two new products they I've tried recently and one long-time favourite!

Yesterday my Birchbox arrived and among all the other goodness it had a very exciting hair product inside! Nick Chavez Beverly Hills Plump'n Thick, basically it is a spay to add volume and thickness to hair. I was quite skeptical at first as I tried so many similar products but they all have left my hair feeling quite sticky and really don't like that. But I gave it a chance today and I loved it! It's the best product of that kind that I've ever had. Instructions says that you can use it on towel-dried hair or any time and then style. I used it wet hair and what a difference it made!Wow! While I was drying my locks I kept on wondering if it was my hair I was drying: as it literally doubled in size! It left my hair light, with no residue, but with a great volume!
After styling my hair I always use Moroccanoil as a serum, you need just a few drops, it revives dry ends and adds shine and...oooooh it smells heavenly! By the way, it's quite a diverse product as you can use it as hair mask: just apply generously over hair, cling film or warm towel (or both) , 2 hours and  ...magic!hair is wonderfully soft and shiny!

I'd like to thank my friend Maja for introducing my uneducated self to the great budget product: L'oreal  Nude Magique BB Cream!! Have no idea why I've never heard of that new product, but it's totally amazing! It's quite entertaining just to apply it as at first when you squeeze it from the tub it's kinda white with blue speckles, but when you start blending it onto the skin it turns nude!!Isn't that amazing??
I find that it doesn't give a full coverage, but it definitely evens the skin tone so I use it as base under the make-up, it gives a flawless finish and feels very smooth!Great product!

Teeth

Hello, beauties!!

Today's post is going to be dedicated to my new super duper tooth brush! Just before Christmas, like many of us, I managed to get a nasty cold and one thing after another and my teeth started hurting, so I found myself sitting in the dentist's chair ( a very comfortable chair by the way, could do with one of those at home). Apart from making me extremely "happy" by removing my wisdom tooth (probably so I could control myself better over the festive period and stopped eating that much) , the dentist also advised me to try an electric tooth brush. I've always been quite hesitant to try electric tooth brush, because even though I understand it's completely or not? safe, I still feel funny about something electric in my mouth. After contemplating a bit and thinking of how excited the dentist sounded, I thought "Why not?"
So meet Marcello (yes, my tooth brush is a he) the Philips Sonicare Diamond Clean Tooth Brush.

Marcello not only looks wonderfully futuristic but also has lots of things to surprise you with. First of all it comes with the stylish glass and a charger. Before use Diamond Clean should be fully charged using the charging station and the glass that should be placed on top of the station and then ...magic!You just put your tooth brush in the glass and it somehow charges! The charge would last up to 3 weeks and the battery sign on the display would say when your tooth brush should be recharged.
Secondly, Sonicare has 5 different modes: Clean, White, Polish, Gum Care and Sensitive. The illuminated display turns off after you finish brushing. I should say that I am pretty impressed with this little gadget: it really leaves the teeth squeaky clean and polished, as if you visited the dentist!
Interestingly, if you buy it directly from Philips website it costs almost 2.5 times more then if you purchase it from Amazon!

Would you consider getting Sonicare Diamond? Do you use electric toothbrush? What brand?

Hair

Hello, beauties!

Sorry that I haven't been posting anything here yet, but I didn't have much free time this week and when I had some I was feeling extremely lazy!So now when I finally have a free moment before the Sunday gym I wanted to tell you about two hair products that I tried recently.

Milk_Shake Conditioning Whipped Cream   (on the left on the picture ) came in one of my monthly subscription boxes before Christmas, but I didn't have a chance to try it out, until a couple of weeks ago I gave it a go. I should say that the name of that product speaks for itself, as the whole packaging is made to resemble whipped cream can, not only the nozzle is absolutely the same as on the sweet delight but it also smells and looks like whipped cream! It's best to use it on the damp hair just before you style it, I just spread a kiwi sized (what a comparison) portion of whipped cream over my hair and blow dry as usual, it leaves the locks very well-condtioned, moisturised and shiny without weighing them down, Milk-Shake actually gives the hair a little more volume and doesn't have that dreaded tacky residue.

I saw Redken Extreme Cat spray in one of the magazines and it claimed that one of the big TV stars is a big fan of it!I couldn't resist trying especially it was such a bargain at 14 quid. I was quite surprised as I thought that it was a conditioning spray that you would use before drying your hair, but instead you are supposed to use it as your usual conditioner after shampooing the hair  and spraying it over and leaving for a few minutes to work. I find it much easier to spray the conditioner in my hand first and then spreading it over the hair, as when you spray it directly to the hair it seems to fly in all direction never reaching the original destination. I quite enjoy using that product, it smells lovely and detangles my hair leaving them extra soft and shiny! So i would definitely recommend trying it!

What are your favourite hair products?

See you next time,
love K
